A video documentary about L.A.’s Arab American community

This project will create a 30-minute video documentary about the experiences of Arab Americans living in the greater Los Angeles area.

Stories will be collected from approximately 15 individuals representing many countries of origin and different traditions, levels of education, occupations and immigrant experiences.

“The stories will make the film a perfect vehicle for discussing and exploring the experiences of Arab-Americans in relation to other immigrant groups,” said Project Director Joseph Haiek.

A public screening of the video in combination with a panel discussion will take place in January 2009. The documentary will also be made available on the Arab American Historical Foundation website.
